If you answer yes to these questions please keep reading… Yolle Tropical Restaurant is looking for an enthusiastic and fully qualified line cook for our brand new kitchen. You must be able to prepare food according to our standard recipes and follow company procedures.
- Candidate must have at least one or more years of experience cooking Haitian food.
- Must past a background check
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 – $11.00 per hour
Duties and Responsibilities
- Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Preparing food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
- Cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer report, and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
- Make suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Requirements
- Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Chef, Restaurant Cook or Prep Cook
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Knowledge of a second language is a plus
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
- Restocked all items throughout shift to ensure cooks had the necessary ingredients
- Stored food items and maintained the highest levels of sanitation and cleanliness
- Relevant training certificate
